Diana Orban Brown

“I am running for re-election to continue to advocate for our students and provide them with the best possible education our community can afford. I am committed to fiscal stewardship, to advancing student success, to accountability to the school community and the taxpayers, and to listening to the views of all stakeholders.”

·Accomplished · Balanced ·Committed

With a record of more than 25 years of outstanding service to Mendham Township, school board incumbent member Diana Orban Brown is seeking re-election to continue advocating for the children

and taxpayers of this community. In 2022, the voters elected Diana to the Mendham Township School District Board of Education to bring

a new perspective and voice to the district. Like many others, Diana has seen the politicization of education and aims to strengthen the work of the Board for the students and the community. The singular goal: Securing Student Success.

During her three-year tenure on the Board, Diana has worked hard to support the schools and student achievement, including as Chair of the Policy and Planning Committee, Chair of the Ad Hoc Referendum

Committee, and as a member of the Curriculum and School Programs Committee.

She leads a variety of initiatives, including potential solar energy savings for the district and taxpayers, the review for readoption of more than 500 outdated policies in the district Policy Manual, and attention on special needs education, supporting Every Student, Every Day.

Committed to continuing education, she has earned more than 100 credit hours in New Jersey School Board Association professional training and is the only Board member to have completed the NJSBA Master Class series. Diana knows there is more to be done and humbly asks for your support in her reelection campaign.

BIO

A 31-year resident of Mendham Township, Diana has served as Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Township Committeewoman. She has been a member of the Finance Advisory Committee, the Administration Committee, the Public Safety Committee, and the Planning Board. She chaired the Mendham Township Open Space Committee for nearly 10 years and was instrumental in re-establishing the committee in 2024. She also served as a member of the Morris County Open Space Trust Committee. She is credited with raising nearly $700,000 in grants and donations to renovate vacant municipal space into the new Pitney Park.

Prior to being elected to the Board of Education, she was a member of the Mendham Township School District Strategic Planning Committee, the Communications Committee, the Education Committee of the 2022 Capital Improvements Bond Referendum initiative, and a frequent participant in Board of Education meetings as a supportive “member of the public.”

A graduate of Purdue University, she has enjoyed three great careers: first as a journalist; then as president of a global marketing communications company with clients in North America, Europe, and Asia; and, finally, as a Director of Alumni and Community Engagement at Rutgers University.
